As life goes on, it seems to become more and more complicated. I remember those early days when I had a toy box and when it was time to clean up my room, everything went into one place – my toy box. What a huge relief it would be if you could take your entire life and success, bundle them up with all the documents and stress that go with it and put into one box at the end of the day.
The truth is that success is messy. Whether you found it one paycheck at a time or battling the lack thereof or whether it came in the windfall - it gets complicated. The more success you have, the more thieves that show up.
I even heard someone say, It would be easier to be broke, than have money. Success sometimes creates a sense of slavery to keeping it, but it shouldn’t be that way.
Your blood, sweat, and tears are supposed to give you freedom. If they aren’t, it’s time to get back to the basics. Winston Churchill stated, “Out of intense complexities, intense simplicities emerge.”
If maintaining your success is increasingly complex, it’s time to break it down and build that toy box. When was the last time you had an audit of your Life Plan? I’m betting that you might not know what that means, let alone how to do it.
What does it mean to you to live Life on purpose? In an audit, your job is to answer that question.
The next step is to analyze how well or how not so well all the complexity your success has created supports you in this endeavor.
For example, your health can’t be a priority when you lie awake at night worrying “what if someone sues me?” Or on the flip side, you may be paying a ton for insurance premiums believing that you don’t need to worry at all - when your coverage really isn’t what you think it is and you should be losing sleep.
Right there. That was it, right? The point where you throw your hands ups. It is too overwhelming. I agree. Success is complex, which is even more reason to make it simple. We have found that overwhelming feeling is primarily caused by one of these reasons:
- Do It Yourself (DIY)
- Lack of Clarity
- Missing Information
- Wrong Professionals
- No Professional Team
- No Professional Team Leader
- Lack of Communication
- Feeling of Losing Control
This is why we built the Life Planning Process™. Our goal is to turn complexity into simplicity. This process focuses on you—your unique situation, future and goals, family dynamics, and feelings regarding risk versus reward. It addresses 8 issues that may or may not be incumbent on you at any time, but are nonetheless addressed proactively to avoid any gaps or overlaps before they become too big of an issue.
Imagine having your toy box back. You know where everything is. You know what you have and what you don’t have. Everything is simple and makes sense.
This is what your plan should look like at the end of the day. Your focus is placed on what is most important to you and you are back in the driver’s seat with your success.
It is not a dream. It is a choice. You can keep living by default or choose to live Life on purpose. The good news is you don’t have to do the job alone. We are just a phone call away!
