The Foundational Course Comes in 4 Versions. Why?

The content in the four versions is identical and covers the same 12 topics. Yet, because all of us have different habits and styles, not to mention each of us prefer to use different digital tools, it was important to me that I offer different versions of this foundational course to support these differences in preferences and meet individuals where they are most comfortable.

The Foundational Course Comes in 4 Versions. What are they?

For individuals who prefer to doodle and take notes using paper and pen (or pencil):

  • Printable (paper-based) worksheets & Google Sheet

For individuals who are more comfortable completing fillable (digital) forms:

  • Electronic (digital) worksheets & Excel Spreadsheet
  • Electronic (digital) worksheets & Google Sheet

Why You Should Consider This Course:

  • According to the Cost of Dying Report, published in February 2024, the financial, time, emotional and/or mental burdens following the loss of a loved one can be extensive. The typical family member pays $12,616 in the days and weeks that follow the passing of a loved one.
  • An executor, on average, spends 18 months settling the estate of a loved one.
  • 94.5% of bereaved people suffered from at least one physical or mental health symptom after a loss, with 84% reporting negative effects on their daily life.
  • Living in the digital age means that most (if not, all) of our digital accounts are not sending a paper statement or bill to our physical mailbox anymore. This means loved ones may not receive a physical reminder of an insurance policy, bank statement or a utility bill. Our loved ones will not know what we have unless we leave organized information behind for me.
  • Leaving behind a “good legacy” is a lot more than having a legally documented estate plan in place. For instance:
    • Access to devices is absolutely vital today and we don’t want to hear any more stories of grieving family members begging a funeral home director for access to a deceased loved one’s body in hopes that their fingerprint will unlock their cell phone.
    • Liabilities (such as utility bills, cloud storage, and Amazon Prime memberships) will need to be paid and transferred and/or closed. Terms of Service Agreements and Privacy Policies that we consent to when creating an online/digital account generally state companies will not grant access to your account to anybody (including a spouse); these policies remain in effect after we become incapacitated or pass away.
  • The benefits they will receive after completing the course include:
    • Profound sense of peace that they have organized all aspects of their lives to make things easier for their loved ones.
    • High sense of confidence that their loved ones will have the information they need to fulfill all their wishes.
    • Tremendous gratitude as they will discover how many actions their loved ones will need to take upon their passing.
